Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return. - Mary Jean Iron

Back in action...

Well, after a very very long hiatus from the blog world, I was browsing through old posts and realized that I miss having a sort of journal covering where we have been over the past few years. So, since I am feeling semi-inspired and I am desperate for distractions from studying for my boards, I am making another attempt to continue posting.

This summer has been quite eventful and began when I graduated from physical therapy school (woohoo!!) in May. I was so thankful that both of my families could come up to celebrate the occasion and truly made it such a special time for me. Post-graduation we headed down to Wytheville, VA to celebrate two friends getting married. We rented a big house in the mountains with some dear friends and the weekend was full of music (courtesy of the Sometimes Favorites), dancing, good food, and some mighty fine Old Fashions.

It's official. We did it!

Next on the agenda was making our way down to my hometown of Chattanooga, TN where we spend a few days with my family before leaving Cooper and flying out for two weeks in Europe!!! And to top it all off, about 20 hours before the big departure, I became and aunt to sweet little Luke Joseph.

Meet Luke.

Adam with Cooper in the blue hole.
A bit high on baby fever:), we boarded a plane and spent two incredible weeks relaxing in Italy, Greece, and Turkey. It seemed like a perfect way to celebrate 5 years of marriage and the completion of graduation school (for me and almost for Adam).

Hiking in Cinque Terre...one of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced.
After returning from our trip, we barely had time to wash our clothes and love on our Cooper (dog) before boarding another flight out to the great state of CO for a week-long family reunion split between Estes Park and Casper, WY. I am so blessed to have a huge, crazy-fun family that LOVEs to get together. We spent the mornings reading with coffee along the river, the days hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, and the evenings eating and drinking together outside of our condos. And on top of this, we all got to meet Luke (Anna and Pat were such troopers for bringing him from CA at only 17 days old so we could all meet him!).

Susanna and Dad meeting Luke
Having a quick picnic in Boulder (where I was born) on our way to Estes Park.
This is a park where my parents grew up hiking with Pat and me.
Brewery tour at New Belgium in Fort Collins
Morning fly fishing trip in the park.
Hiking up Deer Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park.
And now, after over a month of hopping all over the world with the people I love, I have to pretend to be responsible and get down to studying for my boards...the final step in becoming an official PT.
